I wanted to show y'all this upper I recently had Specialized Armamant Warehouse do for me. It started life as a Colt 6940 I picked up cheap awhile back. Originally, I had a BattleComp pinned and welded on it, but found I wasn't that fond of the BC. I sent it to SAW so they could do their 6944SE conversion.

It's best explained here: http://www.specializedarmament.com/content/skins/flat/14-5_bbl_16_bbl.htm

SAW cuts the 16" barrel back, fits their special extended A2 comp, machines it all to fit perfectly, and refinished everything. They even re-stamp the barrel markings to make it look completely factory.

Here it is next to one of my factory Colt 6944's that has an A2X comp on it.

The SAW upper has an OAL barrel length of 16.031", and the 6944/A2X is 16.2"

Don't worry, kids, the SAW upper is on one of my ranch rifles, back in Texas. That fearsome, evil A2 'flash hider' doesn't reside here in the good old Peoples Republic of New Jersey. We wouldn't want it scaring any children or anything.

Thanks for letting me show this off. I thought it was a cool piece of machine work.

My first.  A Windham.  This thing is great!  I got a savage deal on it from Buds and it performs flawless!  For a first AR, I can not be happier.  I really need to sight in the red dot.  Once you get to the range and get close, it is kinda hard not to keep pulling the trigger!!

Shawn,

Best $13 you'll ever spend if you build a lot of guns:

No more duct tape and no more scratched lowers.
