Been a few years but I believe that's an RPG not a rifle...... looks like a model 7 but without seeing the exhaust end hard to tell.Plus the exhaust tube actually looks like it burst, fire it left handed you'll toast your face .

I remember reading that somewhere too. However, salt water != pond water. The salts will corrode and rust metal much more rapidly.
