Genewarper111 18 Posted January 25, 2013 Designed especially for first-time gun owners, the NRA "FIRST Steps" program is a 4 hour course that covers a single pistol action (ie revolver OR semi-automatic), or rifle or shotgun, with the student's own firearm as the focus. The course is part class, part live-fire and emphasizes safe gun handling and shooting fundamentals. The "First Steps" certificate is accepted with the FL CCW and the course overall serves as an excellent prelude to the NRA "Basic Pistol" course, the WInchester marksmanship programme, and our other more advanced classes.
