ASM 1860 Army Requirements....

Hello all. My first post to a great site.

 

I am receiving a ASM 1860 Army cap and ball pistol (the owner is deceased). I have a few questions.

 

1) Do I need to have a pistol permit for this? ( Or any other permit beside my FID)

2) Is it considered a replica?

3) Any idea on worth?

4) Why is this state so difficult? (Sorry had to say it)

2) if it fires a projectile, it is not a "non-firing replica"

Who has possession of the handgun? Was it willed to you, specifically? If not, you will need a P2P.

ASM pistols are worth slightly more than what you would get at a gun buyback, and they don't make spare parts for them anymore. You'd have to pay and find a gun smith to hand fit Pietta or Uberti parts, good luck with that in NJ.
