New member of the safe...My 1st .45

Finally getting around to my newest addition and first step into .45 handguns. It's an FNX-45..got it from Atlantic Tactical in Somerset. In all honesty I was looking for a lightweight pure duty-type .45 pistol and this fit the bill for me...what sold me was price ($599.00), 15+1 capacity( comes with 3 mags), weight and rail up front...also like having the ability to go SA or DA as situation dictates and have option to go safe or decock using ambi lever..

 

She's big as many have said but lightweight and very controllable

Interchangeable back straps to accomodate different hand sizes

 

All in all I love this gun...about 150 rds through it and not a burp whatsoever...recoil is vey manageable and while not a custom 1911 tack driver..accuracy is very good when I benched it at 25yds..very happy with my first .45

How do the grips feel on that gun? Looks like they would really tear up your hand.

They're pretty aggressive. Pretty wide grip too but it fits me

more textured than most but they wont tear up your hands., actually gives you a very solid positive feel on the gun when firing... It wont slip in your hand.... I would try handling one first as some find its too big but I'm a size medium-large hand and I have absolutely no problem with it

really nice Blake...i like the FDE also.. Couldnt decide on FDE or Black so I flipped a coin at the counter... Oh yeah forgot to tell everyone that the gun comes with a luggage sized case! LOL

the grips are big but not bigger than my glock 20 gen 3 10mm grips, those are big grips...

Very nice. Gotta love 15 rounds of 45. I am going to combine hi cap 45 and 1911 for one of my next purchases. Para 14/45. 14 rounds of 45 in a 1911. best of both worlds.

couldnt bring myself to layout 400 beans for a threaded barrel I would never use and then another 3-4 hondos for a RMR sight.. Tempting but those $$ got me a nice chunk of ammo.. But damn that tac does look sweet!

mine was the FN Law Enf. price.. Give em a call an check.. If not I'm pretty sure Steve at Monmouth Arms(forum vendor) can get FN products.. Great guy with great prices
