ruger sr1911 front site failure.

Recommended Posts

if you have a ruger keep an eye out for your front site cracking.. I imagine if it goes missing at the range you will notice it right away..

make sure you always have your eye protection on while shooting it..

if anyone has a ruger 1911 look at your front site and see if the blade touches the slide at all..Just curious i find it odd their breaking.. I am also thinking the install procedure could be the problem..

look for clearance under the front blade to the slide  go hear it looks like his blade was in contact with the slide this will put pressure on the blade and with the constant firing will adventully tear it off like an impact gun on a frozen nut..

i actually have this issue on my new sti from dawson as a matter of fact i could not hit a popper thanks to (alec) stage builder shooting to right after inspecting my front site it is not centered off to the left well their is no space under the blade so it stopped where it is at and instead of taking the time to remove it and file it and install it correctly they sent it out the door that way..
