where is pistol grip defined in the law?  i can only find it in the attorney general guidelines

 

"Pistol grip" means a well defined handle, similar to that found on a handgun, that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, and which permits the firearm to be held and fired with one hand. 

 

looking at that, i'd assume a thumbhole stock is ok and the ps90 is definitely ok since its not "well defined" or "similar to that found on a handgun"

Can u hold and fire the weapon with one hand? If you can't, I doubt that the config of the stock could be considered a pistol grip

It is intentionally vague....

 

Nj does not define thumb hole stock so it is a pistol grip... Or it is not....

 

You could def shoot it with one hand...

It is beneath the action

And it being well defined or not is open to debate...
