Rob0115 1,105 Posted December 28, 2013 I applied quite a while ago and just heard back. It was actually sooner than I expected. I've elected to attend the January meeting as required. I know if accepted you are probationary for some period of time. I was wondering what are the requirements for full acceptance? I'm a pretty reserved guy and a stickler for safety. I have no issues following rules and I'm always respectful of other folks. I really want to make a first and positive impression. I'm sure I'd be a good member of the club. Thanks Rob
T Bill 649 Posted December 28, 2013 Welcome, at the January meeting (January 15th) you will be asked for the financial obligation, copies of your FID and NRA cards (the business meeting is held the third Wedneday of the month at the Elks Lodge 201 Howard Blvd Mt Arlington, NJ). You will be introduced during the membership portion of the meeting. This is called the first reading. You will then be asked to attend a safety orientation class at the range (usually the Saturday after the business meeting, January 18th at 10AM, 2 hours) in Mansfield (363 Janes Chapel Rd Oxford (Mansfield) NJ). Make sure they mark you as having attended, you must complete this step before the second reading. At February Meeting, second reading, (2/19), you will be voted on as a probationary member. Your ID and key card will be mailed to you shortly after. Probationary Members are not allowed to vote for one year. At the January 2015 meeting you will be voted on for full voting membership. You must attend all three meeting in this order to become a Probationary Member.
Earlswagger 13 Posted April 12, 2014 T bill, do you guys Ever have an open house for people to check out the facility?
T Bill 649 Posted April 12, 2014 Due to the long waiting list, I cannot remember an open house in quite a while. I would plan to stop by on a weekend and I'm sure someone could show you around. First Saturday of the month would allow you to observe a USPSA match if that is an interest.
