Post PICs of your SPR style rifles

Recommended Posts

is "ape", "arm"?

Propper LOP and comfortable LOP are to different things.  Propper sounds relative to whatever works best with your body mechanics.  I prefer to be as compact as possible, I just find it more comfortable.  If I have to kick out my elbow more then so be it.  My nose may be above the CH to align my eye with the scope, but its in line with it or close to it.

I may be at R14 this weekend, Ill try and get a pic.

Even with my 16" PredatAR and the MOE stock pinned one notch from fully closed when I am prone my nose is at the CH.

I only ask due to the intended range of the rifle and a repeatable precise delivery.

OK a little OT but you guys sound really versed in the AR building trade....My barrel should be here tomorrow followed shortly by the upper....Can I use Lubriplate on the barrel nut threads or do I really need that aero-shell grease I've heard a lot about?

Any lithium lube will do. It's applied to prevent galling the aluminum threads when a steel barrel nut is installed.

I love SPR's.  The MK12 might be my favorite AR configuration.  Extremely versatile too, as someone mentioned.  Mine is nore function over form.  Specifically, I used a modern coating on the BCG and went with a more powerful optic.  The original MK12's generally had 3-9x or 10x glass.

MK12 Mod 1 (not an exact 1:1 clone)

Geissele DMR 3lb - .5lb

The grouping looks a lil loose for what you have into your gun (2 moa).

What ammo are you using?

Gotcha.

BTW, no lead sleds rests!  Thats like using gutter bumpers when you bowl :)

Eric

Yes, but so is using a bipod.

Yes, but so is using a bipod.

I think a lead sled is much more of a crutch than a bipod.

With a bipod, you have to compensate for cant, have proper loading for stability and to minimize hop, as well as coordinate with your rear support.

With a sled, once you have it locked down, you only need to worry abiut not jerking the trigger.

I am in New Jerky. I like that one..lol

I thought the OPS brake was a no go because it has threads for a supressor on it? Did u somehow perm. attach the thread protector onto the brake?

I wanted to get the OPS model 12 brake for my SPR and got scared off.

When I got the upper from High Caliber Sales, I had them pin and weld the brake and thread protector as one assembly.

The Ops brake can be found for 150 I think. Check Adco
