70gto 142 Posted January 16, 2014 Do any of you guys know which benelli m4 model is good to go in nj thanks. Also is there any 722 compliance work to be done in addition?
intercooler 41 Posted January 16, 2014 the field version is the ONLY one that makes that cut...
JT Custom Guns 956 Posted January 16, 2014 The M4 Tactical # 11713 (w/o the Pistol grip) is legal in NJ I believe you are referring to 922r compliance work, and NO there is not.
intercooler 41 Posted January 16, 2014 you are right...any m4 with the field stock. The did make a specific model that was a tac model with the field stock..but they were few and far between http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=387615116
HavocMan 13 Posted January 16, 2014 I spent a few days trying to find one this past Thanksgiving. I called every north Jersey shop I knew of. None were willing to even make a few phone calls to find one or order one. Their loss.... Anyhow, eventually I stumbled across Carlucci Arms in Randolph. I found them via an expired M4 auction on "Guns America". He got a few more a couple of weeks later & I bought one from him. I got a great deal too. I did call them during my search. Ottomanelli's certainly may have them in the rack now. They certainly did not have any when I was searching last fall. That's what the sales guy who I spoke to on the phone said anyhow. Perhaps he thought I was looking for a Benelli AR15/M4? lol - who knows. The girl at RTSP did, haha! When I called there looking, she didn't seem to know what a Benelli M4 was. Anyhow, Ottomanelli's price is on the high side - which might be why they still have them, if they do. I know this because I bought a Cimarron Coachgun at Ottomanelli's in November - not long after I bought my M4 from Carlucci Arms. I saw an M4 in the rack and asked "How much?" I got my M4 from Carlucci Arms for less. I have no real loyalty to any particular gun shop. When I've made up my mind about what I want, I search around for it locally. If a shop has it in the rack - at a decent price - I'll buy it. If what I'm looking for is available from multiple shops I'll buy from whoever offers me the best deal. I bought my M4 from Carlucci Arms because they had them available first and they gave me a great deal. RTSP got M4's one day after I picked up mine. I was there looking for M&P45 mags. I spotted the M4 in the rack and asked a sales GUY "How Much?" Carlucci Arms is practically right across RT10. I got a better deal there. I bought my Cimarron Coachgun from Ottomanelli's because they had them available. I paid just ten bucks less than MSRP. Certainly not what I'd call a "great deal", but they had the gun in the rack when nobody else did so they got my business.

70gto 142 Posted January 17, 2014 I did some research only to confuse me more, I read something like 2 vs 4 gas ports on different models? If any of his makes sense which model would you guys prefer. Sorry for the ignorance. Well I think I can answer my own question, it seems like the older models had 4 ports to allow the cycling of lighter loads, but the receiver took a beating. Now it seems that they switching to a 2 port system to slow the action down slightly to go easier on the gun but w/o compromising reliability. Seems right from what I read. bhunted 887 Posted January 18, 2014 They have them and sell them quick. Last order they got was for 35 guns just for stock. They don't order that kind of number unless they sell them. Prices have come down a tad. Sent from my iPad 2 using T2 Pro
bhunted 887 Posted January 18, 2014 By the way, while everyone is sending punches at them, state police report they sell more guns than any other gun shop in NJ, not counting transfers. So they must be doing something right. But feel free to shop anywhere you'd like. Just saying. Sent from my iPad 2 using T2 Pro

Sent from my iPad 2 using T2 Pro The intarwebnets can be a strange thing - difficult to relay things clearly sometimes, right? To clarify, I've done business w/ Ottomanelli's. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I recently bought a SxS there, among other things. The shop looks great and every sales guy I've ever spoken to seems to know what he's doing. I like the place. Last fall I got better deal on an M4 from a different shop, that's all.

70gto 142 Posted January 21, 2014 Quick question, the m4's with a straight stock are the 11703 models, besides the stock is there any other difference say between that and the 11707 model?
HavocMan 13 Posted January 21, 2014 Quick question, the m4's with a straight stock are the 11703 models, besides the stock is there any other difference say between that and the 11707 model? I've never handled a 11707 (#%?jersey@&!!), but it sure looks like a 11703 from the receiver forward. I'd be willing to bet that the only difference is the stock/pistol grip.
