SXP??

Recommended Posts

So i might be in the market for a new shotgun and I am on a budget plus I have always used pumps. My initial thoughts were to go get another Benelli Supernova since that is what i used to use. I can't lie though, the new winchester SXP black shadow has caught my eye and looks to be a pretty close competitor (minus the comfort tech stock). Has anyone handled one who can possibly point me one way or the other?

No experience myself, but I came pretty close to getting the SXP Marine Defender (18" barrel with interchangeable chokes) to try and use as a combo HD and casual clay gun, but ended up going in another direction. If it matters to you, aftermarket accessories can be tough, with ATI being the only maker of aftermarket stocks that I could find.

So about 10 month later and I walked into Dicks yesterday and saw the SXP black shadow on sale for $269 I figured I cant complain at that price so I grabbed it. Its not at home with me uet due to NICS hold ups.

Congrats- let us know how it shoots after you get it home!

Good pickup - hopefully you get it today... or soon.

Yeah, I cant complain .... Outside of the NICS hangup. On a side note, be careful when buying from Dicks, the guys at the store only had one of these on the rack and on first inspection it looked fine, when I was about to fill out the paperwork I noticed the barrel nut was cracked. When I brought it up to them they went in the back and got me a new shotgun out of the box. Im not sure but they might have even put the damaged firearm back on the display rack.
