AK Pmags- Has Anyone Used Them Yet?

Recommended Posts

I haven't used them yet but I have some on order.

I prefer steel but I wanted to try some as we have long been awaiting a PMAG in 7.62x39.

And to whoever said they are going to be overpriced, they are anywhere from $12+ each. I dunno how much cheaper you can get.

MTN Armory is still in business if you call them.  You need to ship them the mags and they convert them.  From what i've read i wouldn't use them.  I used Paul PK90 to cut down some AK mags for me but had to buy and send him the mags.  They turned out nice but all said and done were pricey ($38 per mag! for mags, conversions, and shipping twice).  No other options i could find for metal 15 rounders.

With all the shipping back and forth, added with conversion fees.....your $15 mags will turn into $40 mags.

Wish Magpul will just make 15 rd mags.

I have the Tapco mags and they seem to work just fine, one came with the rigle (wasr10). fitment is pretty tight but other than that no complaints. i have only put 60 rounds through the gun and the mag and the mag got jammed once and had to bring it to the gunsmith at the range because it sounded like it was cracking. but he got it out no problem.

By the time they are "altered" they turn into $24 - 30 dollars. Just like AR mags.

These are designed to load against a closed bolt fully loaded since making ready with the AK47 requires it.

Based on reports from testers, owners of Inter Ordnance AK47s may need to "fit" the magazine to the magwell simply the inserting and extracting.  This is not due to the modifications made by us but rather tolerance issues between the rifle and the magazine.  Testers reported that Inter Ordnance rifles required "fitting" with factory-fresh, unmodified PMAGs.
