Does anyone have one on their ar, and how loud is it.

I had one, loud doesn't adequately describe it. Concussive. Felt it through my whole body. Pissed off whomever was next to me.

 

It didn't last long in my rifle, and I'll never have another one. It did control the muzzle though.

I have one one my Stag...I've been told its loud...but I like the look to be honest..works well for me..if you get pissed at loud noises at a gun range then there's something wrong..

100% of the AR's that shoot next to me at the range have almost the same blowback feel to it.

Although my first choice was spikes dynacomp.

On a serious note, it is loud, but it is no louder that any of the very effective comps, they are all loud.

Actually last time at CJ i was shooting my Stag next to an older gentleman who was blasting away with his AK pattern something or other..when we had a ceasefire he looked at me, smiled and said (in a heavy southern drawl) G-Dam!!! Those M-4's are loud!..

I actually have both and have no complaints about either. It is pretty concussive and someone next to you will feel it, but it works.

 

If you or your wife/sister/uncle/son/mother in law etc is concerned about loudness, double up ear pro

Generally they don't, they are just loud for everyone else because of how they redirect the gases. There is this cone behind the muzzle the shooter fits in, but someone sitting their side gets much worse.
