what type of nj legal mags do you like using?

Recommended Posts

I have a few cutdown 15 round pmags and a few nj legal pinned to 15 round pmags. my question is what do You guys prefer a cut down 15 round mag, a 20 round pinned to 15 rounds, or a 30 rounder pinned to 15 rounds and why? I ask this because I think uniformity might be better, instead of having a bunch of pinnned to 15 round in different sizes.

i think 15/30's are good for training or using mag pouches, since they are full size and fit nicely in them. But for bench shooting go smaller i have 15/20's and some 10 rounders. plan on getting the cut down 15's soon for it. From a bench the 15/30's are too long and hit the table.

On this side of the river, I only use PK90's 15 round mags: the 4-rivet version with the proprietary base, the ban-era Bushmaster (former 10's) with the phillips screw in the base,  and the older Magpul cutdowns

On the other side of the river (in America) I use my Magpul 30's

pk's have worked flawlessly for thousands of rounds.....very happy with them

I usually have some magazine.com blocks for pmags on hand and head to a pa gun show. Buy my pmags there then go to my car open the mag up dump in the block drill a set of holes, add two roll pins and done. Costs me anywhere from 15 to 18 dollars total.

15/20s.

If you want to use them in standard mag pouches, just get a sheet of rigid foam insulation and cut it so it fits in the bottom of the mag pouch. This way the shorter mags will be much easier to grab. You can also use a light piece of wood like balsa or cedar.

That's a great idea that' was one of my concerns.

awesome....I want 2 of those please!

You make those? That's pretty cool, I want a couple too!

your standard mags seat with a full load and a closed bolt now so why the hoopla?

These are the Magpul Gen M3 mags that are easy to disassemble, not my typical aluminum mags I have sold for the last 10 years.

I have mags from PK90 and Midwest Px as well as C-Products. Some are 15 rounders, 15/20 and 15/30.

I like the 15/30 for tactical type shooting, the others don't fit well inside pouches or pockets.

I like the shorter mags for bench shooting, my HBAR's bipod is too short for 15/30's. so it really depends on which type of shooting and which gun.

I have not had any problems with any of the magazines.

I think too many people put too much emphasis on magazine brands.

If it works, I use it. Magazines will not last as long as a quality firearm,

15/30s from Midwest. The look of the shorter 15/20s never bothered me, but I found myself pinching my hand in the magwell during reloads and they are harder to grab out of gear.  The majority of mine are 15/30s and the 15/20s are kept for bench shooting.
