So, I ordered a box of Win. M22 on 2/25.

Got the following email on 2/26:

"Hello!

 

Thank you for your recent order.  Cabela’s appreciates your interest in our merchandise

and we welcome this opportunity to serve your sporting needs.  

Unfortunately, we are unable to get authorization on the credit card that was used on

your order.  Please contact our Customer Relations Department at your earliest convenience."

 

Unable to get authorization on the credit card used??? Dafug?? It's their CC.

 

So I called in. And went something like this:

Hi, I got this email about a problem with my CC.

Yes, where did you find out about that ammo being available?

Saw it in a forum

See, that's the problem. Those links sometimes are not updated---honestly I zoomed out after that. I saw I wasn't getting the ammo-

No problem, it's not a big deal.

 

And it isn't a big deal. Inventory issues happen.

But I was thinking all day long, why just not send an email canceling the order? That would have been fine, and has been done before. Why have me calling in?

So I emailed them back that evening:

 

"A simple "we are canceling your order" email would have sufficed instead of having me calling the 800 number to be told the same.

Thank you"

 

So I got the cancellation notice on the 27th, sold out for the season.

 

No big deal. I don't need it to stave off the invading hordes. I just really wish they had sent the cancellation email instead of having me calling in.
