T Bill 649 Posted March 1, 2014 Recover Tactical is offering a grip and rail system for 1911. Great way to add a light or laser to a 1911. Also adds a square front to the trigger guard. Three colors offered. Black, tan, Olive drab. http://www.recovertactical.com/
JT Custom Guns 956 Posted March 1, 2014 interesting! I guess it depends upon the the texture of the material, and the added width of the hand grip.................
pbkid6974 1 Posted March 1, 2014 why not just buy a railed 1911? this seems like a poor solution to a problem that doesn't exist. if you want a laser get crimson trace grips. light? use a handheld one
7-3-2 9 Posted March 1, 2014 Meh ... 1911's are too pretty to cover in plastic
antimatter 139 Posted March 2, 2014 That's actually pretty cool.
checko 180 Posted March 2, 2014 Eh. I'd rather buy the surefire add on rail. That won't fit in any production holsters.
bhunted 887 Posted March 2, 2014 Sharp idea! Sent from my iPad 2 using T2 Pro
Nikos 31 Posted March 2, 2014 I guess it's a good idea for those that prefer their solid 1911 grip would be better if it felt like a nerf gun instead.
mge_1 2 Posted October 29, 2014 It works and I like it... Had to go with the black one.
Screwball 483 Posted October 29, 2014 why not just buy a railed 1911? this seems like a poor solution to a problem that doesn't exist. if you want a laser get crimson trace grips. light? use a handheld one Because some people like the non-railed 1911, but still like the ability to run a light... And I'm not going to buy a dedicated railed 1911 when I own a SR1911 already. No real desire to invest in another identical pistol. I considered tossing a Novak rail, but then I lose a lot of holster compatibility. $50 for a non permanent way to mount a light is definitely a solution for a few people. And owning the grip for a few month, it definitely is a good product. I run either Magpul grips or these on my SR1911. After seeing a few videos on these grips, I sent mine to LightFighter Innovations for a little bit of stippling. I have the screws at CCR for plating. I think the contrast will go good, however I did it since they reminded me of my LCP CT screws, which rusted pretty easily.
bhunted 887 Posted October 29, 2014 What the hell kind of excuse is that? Who in the name of Elmer Fudd said you cannot get another 1911 because you have one already? Totaly bogus maaaan! That's blaspheme!

That's blaspheme! I know... I mean what the hell! I should say the hell with bills and just put money on an identical gun to one that I have. Maybe I should go look at a Ed Brown. bhunted 887 Posted October 29, 2014 What I don't like about it is it's too permenent. You can't just pop it off in other words. Also leaves you with less grip options. Too much extra baggage. If it were something that could be just adapted to the trigger guard, it'd be better.
mge_1 2 Posted October 29, 2014 It's pretty cool... Heard they have one coming out for the Baretta.

Removes just like standard grips. If you meant something else, sorry, didn't follow. It's pretty cool... Heard they have one coming out for the Baretta.I think the Beretta version is up for pre-order or shipping now.

mge_1 2 Posted October 29, 2014 Exactly. Can't just remove it with minimum effort on the go. It takes about the same time as if you where swapping out the regular grips lol... If its NOT you, it not for you. Pretty simple! We are just sharing actual pictures of the product. Which in my opinion looks good and it works.

BullzeyeNJ 104 Posted October 29, 2014 Interesting accessory. You could always do something like this if you like them rails and the fat polymer grip...

Screwball 483 Posted October 31, 2014 the stippling looks good! how do you like the feel now? I love it. The stock grip had some traction, but the stippling makes it 100% better. I had the old grip smooth out prior to stippling. Definitely recommend that, being it really cleans up the grip. Supposedly, they are releasing a holster to go with the grip. Only problem is that there needs to be a cut on the dust cover to accept the retention point (think like a Serpa). Someone from Recover said there would be an exchange program of some sort, but I'm not going that route. I'll stick with the Fobus holster instead of redoing a new set. It isn't like I carry the 1911...
