Recommended Posts

Forgive me for sounding ignorant here but am I the only one who didnt know Sig was in the ammo business. I got this in a Lucky Gunner email today and it stoked my curiosity...anybody have any experience with it?

Just out of curiosity... is not the "SIG" in ".357 SIG" the same as the manufacturer, as ".40 S & W" I believe is "Smith & Wesson" (and .45acp is Auto "Colt" Pistol)?

Or it is just that those particular rounds were designed expressly for those weapons by other manufacturers?

Yes that's Sig.

But similarly with .357 S&W Magnum, .223 Remington, .243 Winchester...that's who developed the cartridge. If the developer was not in the ammo business they teamed with someone (the .357Sig was Sig+Federal and .40S&W was S&W+Winchester, etc)
