NH will accept "restricted" NJ "carry" permits....

Recommended Posts

A friend just rec'd his New Hampshire CCW yesterday. 4 year renewals and about $100. Process from mailing in, to receiving took about 2 weeks.

He sent in a current and valid NJ 'restricted' permit and along w his FL CCW and his NJ "FID" card. Just for good measure.

NHSP told him the NJ "carry" permit, even if 'restricted', they will accept.

NH will reciprocate with PA still. I doubt that the new PA AG will disallow non-res NH Permits anytime soon, but who really knows?

Really, this is NJ's fault. As far as im concerned, NH was nice to oblige.

That's about all I can say. Thanks....

huh? what does that mean?

Let me take a stab at this....

NH will only issue non-resident permits to individuals who possess a permit for their home state.  Here in NJ, having a permit is nearly impossible.  However, quikz's friend has a "restricted permit." I'm not 100% sure what he is referring to, but I'm assuming the friend is an armed guard or similar, and therefore has a permit that he can carry at work only..  He was able to use his restricted permit to apply for and receive a non-resident New Hampshire permit.

Well, Nappen is still suing them. So "close but no cigar"

Kinda sucks and it's my fault -- I'm a land owner in NH -- and I do hold a florida CCW

I just never applied for the NH CCW -- No reason,  just forgetful and thinking there was no rush

Screwed myself this time...
