iCARRY 0 Posted April 5, 2014 There is no purpose for this rifle other then having another rifle. I already have a carbine so I figured I would go with a mid length system to have something a little different. Weight means nothing. Not going to be carrying it around. I am not a marksman, just like to shoot but wouldn't mind it being really accurate. Some will need some compliance work. I have a spikes lower that I am going to match it up to and have not decided on optics yet. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XSTU5035MOE&name=Spikes+Tactical+16%22+Mid-Length+5.56%2f.223+Upper+Receiver&groupid=586 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XSTU5050MLSDC&name=Spikes+Tactical+14.5%22+Lightweight+5.56%2f.223+DynaComp+Upper+Receiver&groupid=586 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XSTU5950MOE&name=Spikes+Tactical+16%22+Mid-Length+GMP+5.56%2f.223+Upper&groupid=586 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XSTU5050R2D&name=Spikes+Tactical+14.5%22+Lightweight+5.56%2f.223+DynaComp+BAR-12+Upper+Receiver&groupid=
Boejoula 0 Posted April 5, 2014 I have the Lightweight/MOE setup. Haven't had it too long so i can't say much, but it works great for me. i also have it mated with a spikes lower. Your welcome to check it out if you'd like Edit: Also no compliance work needed aside from the bayo lug.

iCARRY 0 Posted April 6, 2014 Thinking the lightweight with dynacomp and moe furniture is the way I an going to go. Going to check out BCMs website and see what they are offering. What buffer are you guys running in your mid length systems?

Rob0115 1,105 Posted April 6, 2014 If you're not hung up on spikes, this is one of the best uppers I've ever had regardless of price. http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17555&cat=261&page=1 They make it with a 1:12 rate as well, so it depends on the ammo you'll use most. White Oak makes great stuff.

Vlad G 345 Posted April 7, 2014 What buffer are you guys running in your mid length systems? One one gun I run a rifle setup, on another a milspec carbine one. Both work, rifle is smoother.

Rob0115 1,105 Posted April 7, 2014 They may make nice stuff, but he was looking at light weight carbines, not heavy barreled varminters. When I read it it he said he had a carbine and was looking for a mid length system, no purpose for gun and weight didn't matter. If that's wrong then I definitely made the wrong suggestion. carl_g 568 Posted April 7, 2014 I got the 14.5 LW w/dynacomp - BAR 12 and I love it.
iCARRY 0 Posted April 7, 2014 Sorry for any confusion, but I would like to stay with a M4 profile. 14.5-16 barrel, muzzle brake.
TheLugNutZ 21 Posted April 7, 2014 Im running LW 14.7 mid-length with the spikes lightweight rail (cant remember what the model name is) with dynacomp. PSA lower. Fitment is great. Running standard buffer right now no issues at all. edit: i think it was the BAR12....
iCARRY 0 Posted April 7, 2014 If the BAR12 comes instock in the next month or so, I will order that one otherwise I am going to go with the MOE version. Unless I find a good deal on a BCM or DD. Good to hear standard weight buffer is working in it. Thanks.
TheLugNutZ 21 Posted April 8, 2014 Yeah I have a heavy one as well that came with the spikes upper, but i never swapped it out...
iCARRY 0 Posted April 8, 2014 The new uppers don't come with the heavy buffers anymore so I figured the normal one works fine. Thanks.
