seamusSU 0 Posted April 11, 2014 Saved $18.00 on an IDPA competition pack (noob) Same here. I had been dragging my feet ordering stuff to try out some gun games. This deal was enough to push me to finally do it.
10X 3,278 Posted April 11, 2014 Saved $18.00 on an IDPA competition pack (noob) I'm considering this as well, but have been puzzling over the descriptions. On their competition holster page, they offer a Revolution Combo Pack, and an IDPA Competition Shooters pack. Both include a holster and a mag pouch. Both say they are IDPA legal. The Revolution Combo is $30 cheaper. Both combo packs seem to include the same mag pouch, though they don't explicitly say so. The Revolution combo pack includes a training barrel...not sure how useful that would ever be to me. But I can't compare the holsters. The Revolution holster is available separately, it can be converted from belt to paddle, can accommodate a wide variety of belt widths, and has adjustable cant and tension. It seems like a good overall choice. The Competition Shooters Pack holster has no description whatsoever, though in the photo it's different than the Revolution. It doesn't have a name. I can't tell if it's available separately or not. I can't tell if it's more or less adjustable, configurable, or concealable than the Revolution. I don't know why it's $30 more expensive. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these holsters? If not, I'll reach out to the manufacturer. If anyone is on the fence, like me, and the sale price expires at Blade-Tech, don't despair. Optics Planet has similar or slightly better pricing. Steve_G 51 Posted April 11, 2014 The Revolution line of holsters are injection molded plastic, the others are formed Kydex.
DargZ 5 Posted April 11, 2014 From what I've read, the revolution holster is injection molded plastic. The IDPA version is basically their OWB holster and is made of kydex. Either version will work well for many years to come. If you are looking for a holster for a popular gun, you can find an equally good deal or better deal elsewhere. I've ordered holsters from them directly for holsters not readily in stock elsewhere (PPQ when it first came out, CZ Shadow). They've made ones for me in a relatively short amount of time. This would be a great coupon for those instances.
