Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted April 15, 2014 You folks looking for a quality S&W in .357 Mag, it doesn't get much better than this. I can't speak to the condition of these guns in particular, but I will tell you the "-4's" are the most desirable L-frames. No MIM, no internal lock, hammer mounted firing pin and a drilled and tapped frame with the new style rear sight. The only drawback with these is that the front sight/base/ramp is monolithic - no changing just the blade. Factory would have been a red ramp, but the police agency these were from may have spec'd something else - ask before you buy. That is a terrific price. Just take a gander at Gunbroker completed auctions to see what these go for. The 586 was discontinued some time ago with only the 686 continuing production. A year or so ago, Smith added the 586 to its "Classics" line and they bring premium prices. These will go fast. Good luck. BTW - TGS has a wonderful reputation. Adios, Pizza Bob
