Looking for Rimfire Youth Competitions/Events

I'm just starting to get my 12 year old son interested in shooting. I was looking for some sort of "youth league" for him to join. We're going to do Appleseed this summer, but I can't find any info on something that meets on an ongoing basis. He's just starting out, so nothing too competitive. Ideally I'm looking for something that uses .22 rifles and focuses on safety and the basics, with some fun and a little bit of competition thrown in too.  Does such a thing exist?

If I'm not mistaken, there's a Youth Small Bore League at Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club.

I believe citizens, riverdale , and somerset county (SCFGPA) all have junior rifle programs. Somerset also has a junior bullseye program.

Some (like Old Bridge) don't even require the parent to be a member of the host club.  The clubs just want to get youth involved, which is a GREAT thing!

Check with cjrpc I know they have a youth program not sure if parent has to be a member but it is every Friday if I recall

Lake Island in Carteret is focused largely on youth shooting programs, leagues and travelling to competitions.  It's their big thing.  Cheap to join, nice people.  Search forums and look for user "John Fox" who is one of the officers.
