Has anyone been questioned on 15/30 Mags

Recommended Posts

Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks this way. :). Why mot have a 15/40 or 15/100 if its all about the look. I would put pinned telescoping stocks and muzzle breaks on 5.56 ARs in the same category.

Even in a real fight 30 rd mags have disadvantages compared to 20s. If you're firing from the prone you need to get that much more off the ground compared to a 20.

Because most civilian encounters where an AR is used for self defense happens when you are prone?

A pinned telescoping stock, while a stupid necessity, allows you to pick a length that works best for you. As someone that owns a pinned stock and an a2 I can say the pinned works better for me.

If you were to train with some sort of chest rig or mag carrier, 30 round mags let you train with the same size magazine footprint which may help with muscle memory.

I have had the same conversation there also. I didn't care, I said yes and it was done!! If all your stuff is good to go whats the big deal? I have a bigger issue when the RO wants to sit and talk about all his guns and won't leave me alone. He seemed a little strange!

I have heard the same question asked at SS by one of the RO's.

Same here, and I guess because I am always polite and respectful the RO always wants to talk to me.  And I agree there is one there that is a bit strange, one time he started telling us about the book he was writing about a parallel universe where everyone had muzzle loaders and different tribes were fighting for land.

That was the one and only time I used muffs over my ear plugs.

Range 14 without fail always asks. Pretty annoying considering it's usually the same RO who has seen me several times. The last time it happened it answered back with an annoyed "what do you think they are?" To which he replied "I gotta ask" ....

Hand them the mag and 15 rds and say "here..have at it hoss"...see how many will actually load the mag

I would say "not sure myself? Just bought them from a guy in a van with a Russian accent behind the WaWa on my way over here." " would you mind checking them all out for me?" And that my friends is how you get the RO's to load all your mags for you while you enjoy your time shooting, instead of loading! :D

If I were asked about my stuff I would pack up all my stuff and leave without saying a word. That is if I were asked in a manner in which I felt I was being checked on.

Could you imagine an RO who got up on the wrong side of the bed, who didn't like your attitude, and who believed you were hiding something, notifying the fuzz? I can.

Five to 10 years is too high a price for being "right."
