Respect2A 0 Posted April 24, 2014 Anyone going? Nice to have a 3 gun match in the area. Most are in PA.

M4BGRINGO 139 Posted April 24, 2014 What do we need? I sold all my AK-clones and never finished an AR. I have my awesome .40 Cal Storm, does that count as a rifle? Shotguns and handguns, no problem.
FLHX 1 Posted April 24, 2014 The details are at this link. I would send Jim an email and see if the PCC will be ok. http://obcats.com/
Vlad G 345 Posted April 24, 2014 Personally I'd say PCC its fine, just know where it hits from zero to 100yards. But still check with Jim. Also, keep in mind guys this is a bit of a special match. First, it is harder then USPSA, and safety matters more. Second, this is a "everyone works" match. We strongly ask that if you want to shoot this match you show up early and help us build it. 3 guns stages can be harder to build (I know mine will be) and we'll need help in the morning putting it all together. However, it is the most fun with clothes on. Make sure you have some buckshot and know where it hits. Come on out and play
alec.mc 180 Posted April 25, 2014 3 gun schmee gun, i'll be driving out to ontelunne for their uspsa match.
Respect2A 0 Posted April 25, 2014 One of the info pages says to bring shotgun slugs. The other one does not. Is it a mistake?
Vlad G 345 Posted April 25, 2014 Bring both, you only need about 10rd of each at max. As far as I know, as this point slugs will not be needed, and I know my stage has buck in it, so bring some.
Vlad G 345 Posted April 25, 2014 3 gun schmee gun, i'll be driving out to ontelunne for their uspsa match. You know .. they make a revolver rifle AND shotgun now. Hell, its a 2-in-1, you would only need to buy one gun.
jvheitz 5 Posted April 25, 2014 3 gun schmee gun, i'll be driving out to ontelunne for their uspsa match. But OB is 10 min from my house. And I get to shoot 3 guns in 1 match.

Jim Norman 5 Posted April 25, 2014 There are still slots open. You don't need a sling You need some Buck and maybe a few slugs, Bringing extra buck if you need it Your PCC is OK by me, just remember you need to hit at 100 yards and the tragets aren't really large ones. Nor are they really small either. As for that derisive comment 3-Gun Schmee-Gun, what does one expect from a walking anachronism? (OK, that means the guy shooting the 170 year old design instead of the much more modern 100 year old design!) See you on the range.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted April 25, 2014 What king of stages for the rifle? Round count? Mag swaps?
Vlad G 345 Posted April 25, 2014 What king of stages for the rifle? Round count? Mag swaps? Everything from close range to 100yards, yes on mag changes. Total round counts are on the web page.
Vlad G 345 Posted April 25, 2014 To elaborate, if you never shot a 3gun match before, you can expect to enagage targets from muzzle distance to 100yards (at OB at least, because 100 yards is the most we can do). You need a way to carry about 30-45 rounds of pistol, 30-45 rounds of pistol, possibly both at the same time, and a way to carry about 15-30 rounds of shotgun ammo besides what fits in your gun. You can shove it all in your pockets if you want, it will just slow you down. The first time I've done it, I had pistol mags on my belt, rifle mags in my pockets, and a $15 "bandoleer" belt for shotgun ammo. Not at all ideal, but you'll have fun anyway and then you can decide if you want to buy better gear.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted April 26, 2014 Yes, we did a "Zombie" match at OB several years ago. I had ammo stuffed all-over myself, wherever I could!

ClangClang 14 Posted April 26, 2014 At the Zombie match in '11 (or whenever it was) we had an opportunity to zero our rifles before the match began. Will there be a similar opportunity?

froggy 3 Posted April 27, 2014 I would like to try this tomorrow, is there still room? I have my 12 gauge pump, 22 scoped rifle and 22 handgun, will that work for the match? I was looking at the reg. form and got stuck as to what cat. I will be shooting? Does anyone know what I should put down? thanks guys!!
Vlad G 345 Posted April 27, 2014 Generally we shoot higher cartridges, not .22s. You can talk to Jim and see what he says, you could shoot it for fun as opposed to for score, but the odds are the steel targets won't be activated by .22s If nothing else come out and watch and see if it looks interesting enough for the future. FLHX 1 Posted April 27, 2014 More rain, this match had been rained or snowed out too many times. I hope it clears and all is well in the AM!!!
Vlad G 345 Posted April 27, 2014 It is supposed to be clear tomorrow. I suspect that short of Noah showing up and saying "Huh Guys, get on my boat now!" this match is on.
Respect2A 0 Posted April 27, 2014 All packed for tomorrow. I wonder what I am missing? I even used a checklist.
Vlad G 345 Posted April 27, 2014 All packed for tomorrow. I wonder what I am missing? I even used a checklist. Guns, ammo, eyes, ears, belt and other web gear, spare parts, cleaning supplies, sun screen, water, chamber flags if you got them. everything else is a bonus.
