Replica magpul UBR stock

Recommended Posts

plenty of good authentic shite on ebay cheaper than retail....it does have its pros and cons.

Now there is a lot of Magput PTS stuff on ebay that is airsoft qualitty if thats what your referring to as fake. If its for a real firearm don't use Magpul training parts. I dont use ebay to buy magpul furniture but I do for other stuff.

If its for an airsoft gun the here you go...still expensive for lower quality plastic

Will it be stored in NJ? Do you live in PA or NJ? The whole appeal of the UBR is how it adjusts, which you can't have on NJ. it would need to be permanently altered to prevent adjustment.

First thing... that better be the real deal and not a knock off for $300. I only paid a little more when I bought mine a year ago.

Second... I don't understand why people are saying the appeal of the UBR is the adjustability. That can't be right. The UBR only adjusts for LOP, like any other telescoping stock. Why would that be the appeal when they could buy a STR, CTR, MOE, etc and get the same adjustability?

Perhaps you're thinking of the PRS... which is fixed, but has all sorts of adjustability (cheek height, LOP, etc.)

I have a UBR (neutered for NJ) and I love it. The extra weight of the UBR really helps balance out the front end. (Old pic. That bipod/grip is gone. Replaced with an AFGv2.)

And yes, Big Five, it IS bad ass. :)

If given the choice of

1) slimming down the front of the rifle to make it more balanced thus netting a lighter overall gun..

or

2) adding more weight to the rear of the gun with a heavy stock thus netting a heavier gun..

I would pick option 1 every time.. especially if I lived in a state where the main adjust-ability of the stock was negated by having to pin it.. paying a premium for a heavy stock that will essentially function like any other pinned AR stock is confusing to me..

From the Magpul website:

"...this modular design offers the stability of a fixed stock with consistent cheek weld in any position. Seven-position length-of-pull (LOP) adjustment is quickly executed with gross motor movement while the integral preset system allows direct access to a preferred position. A robust lock mechanism and multi-shell construction increase durability under severe impact conditions experienced during malfunction clearing and accommodates large-bore AR calibers with ease. The UBR also provides extra counterbalance weight to improve handling on full-length rifles and weapons with muzzle-heavy accessories or bull-barrels"

I think the major appeal, as far as weight goes, is for people who run a .458 or .50 beo or "tactical" types that hang a bunch of shit off the front end for a living.  Depends on the intended use I guess.

The thing about the adjustability I like is the fact that it has a consistent cheek weld, close to the rear sight, regardless of the position the stock is in.

With that said, its way to heavy, expensive and useless for me to use for my needs and in this state.

They stock will not be pinned. Or will it be installed in nj soil

Is this a question? If the stock doesn't get pinned, don't get caught in NJ using it or storing it. Your rifle will then be considered an "assault rifle" under NJ statute.
