Aj10523 0 Posted May 5, 2014 I took the wife out shooting this past weekend. She really enjoyed Sporting Clays. She was using my AL48 and loved it. So now I'm looking for a left-handed shotgun that she can handle. I have only really found one lightweight gun which is by Legacy Sports and it's an Escort Supreme Magnum. 26" barrel 14" length of pull and 6.5#. Didn't know if anybody else knew of anything I'm missing. Not looking for double barrel or to spend a ton. But suggestions would be great. And if anybody owns an Escort please let me know what you think of them.
TechSmith215 0 Posted May 14, 2014 Hi, newbie, green, whatever the correct term is that would be me, anyway I was wondering if a Mossberg 500a would work for your wife?
Aj10523 0 Posted May 16, 2014 She has shot a pump gun but does not like it much. But thanks for the suggestion.
MedicYeti 96 Posted May 16, 2014 CZ makes a semiautomatic youth size 20 gauge. I don't know if it comes in a left side eject model. I used this gun to train a bunch of women to shoot clays. It's a nice shooter, easy, little recoil.
varna 9 Posted May 16, 2014 I shoot left handed and have used right handed guns all my life. (50+ years) Never a problem. In fact, I feel that I protect the trigger better while hunting due to my hand wrapping around it to push the safety with my finger. I could see and issue with a bolt action if you need a quick follow up shot. Just sayin you dont "have" to have a dedicated lefty gun.
Smoke Eater 0 Posted May 16, 2014 May I suggest a Saiga 20 guage. I am a lefty shooter and I have owned several saiga rifles and shotguns. The shells all eject at the 130-3 o'clock position. Only issue is the trigger pull. Which can be fixed with a little bit of polishing which you can do yourself. The magazine fed system is another great feature. As for chokes and such, they make choke adapters to use win chokes. Plus it has 2 gas systems so you can use it for many different loads. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=415836404
DaddyNick 408 Posted May 26, 2014 don't rule out an Ithaca or browning bps pump gun. they make them in 20gauge and they are bottom ejecting. Nick

JayWilling 33 Posted May 28, 2014 My wife is very small and has an Escort 20 ga semi. It's a small gun...I think it might even be a youth model. We put a thick rubber butt pad on it and it's a good length for her and she's comfortable with it. Never had any trouble with it either.
