OfcrFek 21 Posted May 5, 2014 Can't believe I can't find a post about this on here... I'm looking for a cheaper picatinny mountable camera for recording video while training... anyone know of any?
notmetoo 41 Posted May 5, 2014 Not a camera, per se, but it allows you to mount any camera threaded for tripods: Digital Camera Picatinny Rail Mount Disclaimer: I don't own one nor have I used one.
TooBigToFit 2 Posted May 16, 2014 I haven't mounted mine to a picatinny rail yet, but I like the Contour series. Their interchangeable mount system is the best, and it's a whole lot more streamlined than the GoPro. The laser alignment system is neat too. Mine has held up to plenty of abuse. It's been on my fire helmet for 2 years or so, though a recent drill melted the record button and cover a bit (still works!).
Candyman87 10 Posted May 17, 2014 I've had my GoPro from 120' under water diving shipwrecks to 85 mph mounted on the handlebars of my Harley. I wouldn't hesitate to put it on a rifle or pistol. I'd like to get this setup once I get an AR of my own. http://theaccessorypro.com/products/gun-rail-mount-center-gopro-hero-picatinny-weaver
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted May 17, 2014 they make rail mounts for the go-pro. http://www.mackspw.com/Item--i-CYH1012?src=Y0807GL0N0N10000&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PLA&gclid=CPrt9rfCs74CFYw7OgodWFwApw Not sure what your idea of cheap is though. Go-pro's are cheap for what they can do. I've wanted to buy one for a while now.. but i always get mixed reviews on them..
Oleg 8 Posted May 17, 2014 Googled for a gun mountable camera some time ago and came up with this one - http://www.shotkam.com/
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted May 17, 2014 Contour has a picatinny mount for their cameras. I would recommend you use a Contour with a fixed battery - non-removable. My original ContourHD will turn off because of the recoil.
jon.squared 0 Posted June 11, 2014 I use a Contour camera (the ContourROAM, older model that's waterproof) and a StrikeMark Picatinny rail mount (which when mounting the camera, scratches the finish in a certain spot consistently but doesn't affect anything).
