What do pictures have to do with choosing a muzzle device?

 

Shouldn't you be more concerned with how they function, how well they tame recoil, how flat they keep the muzzle and how "blasty" they are? Who cares what it looks like. It's how it subjectively makes the carbine shoot that's important.

Why do people want wood stocks when polymer is better, lighter, and easier to maintain?

 

My M16A1 came with the original A1 flash hider. It has no comp at all. I put a FSC 556 on it. It looked absolutely ridiculous. It was an abortion. Finally the simple idea of putting an A2 comp on it came to me. That is a comp, albeit not some sort of competition comp, but looks normal on it and shoots better.

 

People often want their guns to look a certain way just like their cars, houses, women, etc.
