2014 Carbine/Shotgun/Pistol Training Classes

Recommended Posts

Half the year is up and I have yet to take any training classes this year. I've used MDTS for the past few years but they've pulled all their classes from NJ, still waiting for their Eastern PA classes to pop up but nothing yet. Does anyone have eyes on some good 1 or 2 day training classes within a few hours driving distance of NJ for carbine/shotgun/pistol? Not really looking for those 7 hour classroom time w/ 1 hour live fire with a 50 round count classes. Also, budget is not unlimited so trying to avoid classes that are far that would incur air fare. Would also like the classes to be outdoors. I've looked at the classes that RTSP and GunforHire offer so if there is nothing else out there, those will have to do.

I applied for an EAG class in WV  It's about 4 hours away.   I see LAV is gonna be around in September.  Mike Pannone is gonna be in Bethlehem in July.  Pat Mac is gonna be in New Hampshire (5 hours but its a 3 day course)  Frank Proctor is gonna be in Connecticut for a pistol class (not familiar with the laws in Conn though.)

Other than that, I was interested in the classes at RTSP.  The Sights and Trigger class High Exposure took last year is GTG.

I am on the lookout for classes as well for the end of this year. The Pat Mac class is sold out, plus with the driving, hotel and whatnot it will be almost $1500 which is just too much for me.

I am looking at the Vickers class and then probably a fighting pistol if I can find a spot within a 2-3 hour drive.

Thansk Checko, you suggested some great classes there. I'm going to look into the EAG classes in WVA for sure and will probably stay away from the ones in Connecticut.

Have you looked into the EAG class? I got my confirmation today and I wouldn't mind some NJ company
