primer 0 Posted July 9, 2014 I bought an STI 2011 Frame 5.0" Long Wide frame that has not been cut for ramp. I need a gunsmith close by me who can do a ramp cut (Wilson/Nowlin) on an STI 2011 Frame. I'm in Edison NJ. Any lead will be much appreciated.
Shane45 807 Posted July 9, 2014 Is there a reason not to use a standard barrel?
primer 0 Posted July 9, 2014 I bought this 2011 frame not ramped cut as it was the only one available then from shootersconnection. Now I need it cut. FYI, I shoot .40 LTD and L-10 and I favor more the NW ramped barrels. Thanks for the query.
2Alpha 6 Posted July 9, 2014 I would have the ramp cut when the barrel is being installed, makes everything easier for the builder to be able to make sure the VIS and bed are correct for the barrel. Primer, were you planning on doing the rest of the work yourself?
primer 0 Posted July 9, 2014 Yes, I plan to do the work myself. I already fitted the slide and frame together. I just need the ramp cut to finish. FYI, I have three 1911 and a 2011 that I have worked completely by myself. I don't profess to be a gunsmith but I think I can fit them well enough for a very reliable competition guns (though I did once have an FFL as a gunsmith 20 years ago but stopped making guns a couple of years after that as I decided to have a career change). Anyway I don't have the milling machine to do this otherwise I will do it myself. Thanks for the comment NJGF Regular.
