JaketheMoose 0 Posted July 17, 2014 Looking for a pocket 9mm for CC and the night stand. I'm looking to spend no more than 4 bills and have narrowed it down to these three: Ruger LC9 SCCY CPX2 MP9 Shield Thoughts on these or others I may be overlooking? Thanks in advance
67gtonut 847 Posted July 17, 2014 As much as a S&W fanboy as I am.... and Shield being a nice piece ..... I would not call it a pocket gun..... I cant speak for the others on your list
ogfarmer 138 Posted July 17, 2014 LC9 Trigger is horrible Shield is good XDs is just as good
Lalo 13 Posted July 17, 2014 Out of those three, I've shot the shield and absolutely love it and would recommend it.
JaketheMoose 0 Posted July 17, 2014 Definitely looking for something with a 3" barrel or so. Something in the size neighborhood of the shield

JaketheMoose 0 Posted July 17, 2014 LC9 Trigger is horrible Shield is good XDs is just as good Heard that from several ppl about the ruger. Long triggers on the sccy also, but fine once you get used to it
JaketheMoose 0 Posted July 17, 2014 Beretta Nano I've heard very little about these and don't know anyone who has one. But the nano has perked my curiosity.

T Bill 649 Posted July 17, 2014 Shield is good. Galloway Precision makes a replacement trigger for the LC9. SCCY so so. Nano acquired liking. Pocket carry and Subcompacts are two different categories. You'll need to check carefully. I would make sure you do touchy feeley with them before crossing any off the lists. Each has a big list of pluses and minuses.http://www.lewrockwell.com/2013/05/teamgunblogger-com/21-minipocket-9mm-pistols-for-concealed-carry/
Krdshrk 3,872 Posted July 17, 2014 I've heard very little about these and don't know anyone who has one. But the nano has perked my curiosity. I have one. Snagless design. 6+1 capacity or 8+1 with extended mags. Striker fired. It was what people want from Glock - a single stack 9mm. The trigger pull is long but smooth. PK90 3,569 Posted July 17, 2014 None are pocket guns. Get yourself a Diamondback DB9, a Kahr PM9, or a Rohrbaugh R9. Per the OP's budget, it will have to be the DB9.
scorched 0 Posted July 17, 2014 Shield is a great gun, but definitely not pocket sized. I shot a lc9. Trigger was god awful. I bought a kahr cm9. Similar to pm9 without the bells and whistles. Look into it. Its an awesome gun.

Respect2A 0 Posted July 17, 2014 Pocketgun? Go with the S&W Bodyguard .380 You also don't want a pocketgun as a nightstand gun. Get a full size or a compact if you must. Pocket gun and nightstand gun are two entirely different roles and ideally you want different guns to fulfill those roles.
PK90 3,569 Posted July 17, 2014 This might help size wise. http://www.seecamp.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1297471836/8#

blksheep 466 Posted July 17, 2014 Having shot all of them the Shield is the way to go. The Ruger has a long pull. The SCCY is imho junk. Way to many malfunctions to trust a life on. The Shield is a good option minus the safety.

Have been seeing them on slickguns for a bit cheaper recently. Pm bluelinefish. He was trying to sell his a bit ago.
