I had no experience when I did mine. I just watched a YouTube video . I will post link later tonight of the one I used . It's basically just drilling out a couple rivets and everything will come out fairly easy, the only thing that is tricky and make take a few tries

Is getting a spring back on. Other than that it all just pops together.

the "style" you pick for the gun should be dictated by your shooting style and what will fit you best as a shooter.. "accessories" and feel of the gun are built around you...

Honestly, it's not about looks but function.

 

The original AK ergo is a bit of a turd, the stock is too short for us Americans, and it lacks attachment points for modern accoutrements like RDS, tac lights, etc.  So while it looks nice, it's behind the times functionally.

 

I recommend buying two: one for throwback "classic" look, and one for "tacticool" functionality.

 

Another option is buying one with a "traditional" look and mounting an RDS using the side-rail attachment... I do that with mine.
