Apartment Hunting: Towns which are more FID/PP Friendly

Hi All,

 

I received notice that my lease will run to expiration without renewal this year.  I don't really know why since I pay my bills on time, live rather quietly, and take care of my unit.  Well, I started getting more attention from building management as of late since getting my FID and going to the range with all my firearms.   This is probably me being paranoid, so disregard that last statement.

 

Anyways, as I search for an apartment, could anyone suggest any towns in the Scotch Plains (Union County) area which has police departments who actually follow state law as it pertains to the  FID/PP process?

Mountainside is great, very quick to get you your permits. I don't know what the apartment situation is like though.

Roselle Park has never taken the full month to get me my permits. Usually get them within 3 weeks and the secretary is a pleasure to deal with.

I plan on moving to PA, but what are some good areas to look at, I only really know Philly and Poconos. What outside of those are towns/cities that worth searching to buy a house?

Im looking in the Mt. Bethel area right now, nice quiet town. Exit 4 off rt 80 before the gap. 24 miles further from my house now. 24 miles sounds to me like a small price to pay for freedom. I can also keep my business here in Jersey. I'll just become one of the people I bitch about, clogging up our roads in the morning coming here to steal our jobs lol...

Depends on where you have to commute to. The Parkland section of Allentown, PA has really good schools and low crime.

PA would be a possibility if I didn't have ties to NYC during some points in the week.  Sadly, Jersey will be my home for a while.

I'm in the Poke-In-The-Nose, I like it. You just have to be picky and do your research.

 

Also, OP, a ton of my neighbors work in NYC. Definitely not a fun commute.
