AR pistol stabilizing brace (NJ legal?)

If I were to acquire a NJ legal carbon 15 AR pistol, would the addition of the "stabilizing brace" make the pistol illegal in NJ?

 

I'm curious if it would be considered a part of the pistol and in turn make it heavier than the 50oz limit, or if it would be like a red dot or scope (removable).
