depends on your issuing authority, I only pay if I havent applied in past 10 months. Some require everytime

Also make sure your PD is still requiring money orders.  Many have gone electronic.

Every time a non-criminal background check (SBI-212A) is performed pursuant to an STS-033 Application for a FPID or P2P's, there is a charge. The SBI-212A is now being done on-line and is now $20 ($18 for the check and a $2 "convenience" fee). Check with your local PD to make sure that they have moved to the electronic format.

the only bright note on it is with the move to electronic my permits get processed inside of a month instead of nearly 3 months.

'course we have other problems right now (no chief of police, and no one is willing to sign the P2P forms now in his place.)
