Homemade brass tumbler

So...I'm a cheap bastard but I'm going to start reloading. I'm a pretty inventive guy so I decided to attempt my own brass tumbler.

 

I decided to do a bench test first so I gathered my materials from the basement:

 

An old coffee can

A 3" long bolt

My old cordless drill

A roll of tape to seal the lid on the can

 

I also stopped at Petco and picked up my media (about 7-8 lbs of ground walnut shells sold as lizard bedding). This was the only "new" item I actually spent money on...a whole $8.00.

 

The setup seems to work fairly well...I'll have to beef up the mounting and use a larger container...this was just proof of concept for me.

If your going to dry tumble like that take some used dryer sheets, tear them into 1" strips and put them in there. I hear it absorbs some of the lead.
