gleninjersey 2,139 Posted August 10, 2014 Purchased first firearm (Ruger GP100) last year. Intended to join the NRA at that time but never got around to it. Purchased a few more firearms in the last year. During the past year I have become acutely more aware of firearm related news stories and how, for the most part, firearm owners are being horrible maligned (especially in NJ). Also had an experience this weekend of local police department seeming to make it more difficult for a person to apply for a FID than it already is. For these, and many other common reasons for joining, I finally said to myself, "I can't put this off any longer." $25 for a year membership is nothing compared to what one typically spends during a day at the range. I highly encourage anyone else how "hasn't gotten around to it" to please log on and spend the 10 minutes (or less) to join. Here's the link. If your like me and haven't done so yet, please join: https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp

There is a thread that discusses how to set set up your NRA account settings. Perhaps you can set your account up so you are not contacted? That is a good deal for Lifetime Member. If anyone knows the thread I'm talking about please link it.
DSD1026 48 Posted August 11, 2014 Signed up as a life member last year when they were running their big $300 special. Have had a few calls here and there from them, but nothing overwhelming.

Burns 16 Posted August 12, 2014 I joined last year for a 3 year membership and I also had to have them take me off there call list. I am all for supporting the cause but damn man enough with the phone calls.
jeff47 30 Posted August 14, 2014 I just became a patron member. You can sign into your account on the NRA site and select the 'don't hassle me' option. Well worth it with Bloombergs nearly unlimited wallet against us.
Sota 1,191 Posted August 14, 2014 I got the $300 lifetime special right when Sandy Hook happened. I haven't been called a single time, and I got no swag out of it. If the NRA or NRA-ILA would get off their collective asses and be all up in NJ's legislative faces 24/7/365 I'd "donate" a hell of a lot more.
