Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted August 14, 2014 Will mags from a Ruger Mark II work in a Ruger Mark III? I don't know anything about the differences between the two guns, so forgive this noob such a noobish question. Thanks in advance.
djg0770 481 Posted August 14, 2014 Mark 2 has a heel mag release, Mark 3 has a button mag release. PK90's statement above is correct.
10X 3,296 Posted August 14, 2014 Do the mark I's and mark Ii's interchange? Both heel release, but I've not compared them otherwise.
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted August 14, 2014 Do the mark I's and mark Ii's interchange? Both heel release, but I've not compared them otherwise. Depends on the frame. There are some MK I's that have the A100 frame and will accept MK II mags - otherwise no. IIRC it is a fitment problem due to the button used to depress the follower for loading. Adios, Pizza Bob
djg0770 481 Posted August 14, 2014 I thought Mark 1's only held 9 rounds. As I recall they do not interchange.
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted August 14, 2014 I thought Mark 1's only held 9 rounds. As I recall they do not interchange. Later MK I's were built on the MK II frame (A100) and hence will accept MK II mags
seamusSU 0 Posted August 14, 2014 Early Mark I's (I have a 1951) will work with MK II mags but you will need to reverse the button which only requires a paperclip to push in the spring on the baseplate. The only problem with doing that is that the new production MK II mags tend to catch on the mag release since the baseplate isn't fixed on place. I actually need to try and sort out a fix for that issue since it's really annoying
