They are neat, someone on GunBroker has one if you have $4K+ to burn: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=437332008
mipafox 438 Posted August 26, 2014 It's not going to replace the SAW and they are not called SHRIKE's anymore. It was amazing that they started taking huge deposits ($1500?) in 1998 and didn't started delivering these in quantity until around 2011. At tripple the original price. And didn't take phone calls about the status in between When the AWB expired in 2004 and BETAs came on the market the Shrike became far less valuable. It has a cool factor (all belt feds do) but M16 owners can do the same thing much cheaper with a CMAG. There is also somebody else making belt fed M16 uppers now as well. I wouldn't trust Ares myself. Finally, Alliance Armament is now making an ATF approved 5.56mm upper receiver for the M11/9. A full auto M11/9 is ~ $4K, versus about $15K for the cheapest conversion type M16s. They've been a little spotty on customer service but have a reasonable product. They are soon coming out with a belt fed version and that should largely kill off the Ares product simply on a cost basis. Except for people that already have M16 and no M10s/M11s and are willing to shell out the extra $. I hope AA gets their act together because I am still waiting for their drum-fed, full-auto 12 gauge upper

MidwestPX 172 Posted August 28, 2014 Adding to mipafox's post, the only thing that might replace the Mk46 is the HK IAR. The beltfed conversion uppers aren't super reliable from what I've heard/read.
