OfcrFek 21 Posted August 31, 2014 Don't know what's wrong with it... As the title states, trigger wont reset after pulled. It will if there's no round in the chamber, but if I hold the trigger after I pull it, and work the slide (as if it had fired and was ejecting the brass), it stays stuck. It also starts this after firing a few live rounds. I looked online, and did some different things... oiled everything up, re positioned the springs, bent the springs a little more so there is more downward pressure on the trigger mechanism.... I dunno, any ideas?? I'm pretty close to just finding a gunsmith and just paying them to fix it, as I'm getting pretty damn sick of tinkering with it. JT Custom Guns 956 Posted August 31, 2014 Josh, Will the trigger reset if cycle the bolt manually, as in several times in a row,,,,,,??????? Have you recently done one of the following: 1) replaced the FCG? 2) Disassembled & re-assembled the FCG?
JT Custom Guns 956 Posted August 31, 2014 Do the FCG test (this should be done for every new install to make sure your trigger group is working correctly)- make sure chamber is clear and point in a safe direction- Rack carrier so hammer is cocked- Pull trigger and hold trigger- Rack carrier again and let her fly forward!- Did the hammer catch on the disconnector?....if yes...release trigger - did it catch on the front hook of the trigger? - yes...FCG is normal (but repeat a few times to make sure) Look at the Gas Port for blockage....if no, hammer flies forward...FCG is missing disconnector spring, something incorrectly installed, or defective FCG parts Repair or replace Disconnector Spring or FCG as needed.............. OfcrFek 21 Posted August 31, 2014 Honestly, I build AR's, but know almost nothing about AK's lol. Hopefully this clears some stuff up: The problem started when I drilled my receiver to put a side mount optics adapter on it. I ended up getting it bolted to it but for the 3 days it was on, every single time I pulled the trigger back (hammer forward, hammer back, or w/ the safety on), the trigger wouldn't reset and would take a decent amount of force to push it back to where it was supposed to be. After 3 days of messing with it, I realized that I had tightened the side mount down partially over the trigger pin so tight, that it wasn't allowing it to rotate that 1/8th of a turn that it needs to. Since then I took it off, but the problem intermittently still persists. That's why I don't think it has anything to do w/ the gas block, barrel, or BCG. JT Custom Guns 956 Posted August 31, 2014 perhaps you bent the pin..........
OfcrFek 21 Posted August 31, 2014 Fack. So should I just replace the FCG and trigger pin and see if the problem persists?
JT Custom Guns 956 Posted August 31, 2014 I would. I'd get the Tapco G2 Double Hook and a new spring & pins

vladtepes 1,060 Posted September 3, 2014 is there an axis pin retaining plate in there or some goofy spring? have you pulled everything out.. cleaned it up.. and slowly put it back together? the trigger rotates on the axis pin.. the axis pin should not need to spin when the trigger moves... if it does the trigger may be binding on the pin indicating there is debris in there or some other object... OR that the pin itself is bent in some way... pull all that stuff out and verify that the trigger can smoothly rotate on the pin... look for any debris.. if it is binding ON the pin.. and the pin is trying to spin.. then that is where the problem is.. OfcrFek 21 Posted September 6, 2014 I ended up just ordering a Tapco G2 FCG, and new springs. Before it got to my house, I decided to take it all apart and give the old FCG a good cleaning to see if I could tell what was causing the problems. When it came time to put the old FCG back in, I couldn't get the one pin to go through the trigger or the hammer. It looks like Jack was right, and I slightly bent the pin when I tightened the side mount down on it.
