Didn't see anything about this here but just read about it on nj.com. I was going to go last night around 8pm but friend bailed.

I think it was just last year that they changed their policy to not allow single walk-ins to rent.  So this guy must have come in with a friend or his own gun.  Makes no sense to me.

wow, I almost went to shore shot yesterday around this time too.  That's crazy I don't understand the suicide at shooing range situation.  Like Zack said you can't walk in and rent a gun unless you already have a FID or with someone that has a firearm already.  I wonder what the case was here but it's a shame for the gun world because anti 2nd ammendment nuts will surely eat this up.

I have to wonder, was it a suicide? or was it a 4 Rules failure with tragic consequences. Chest shot doesn't feel like a suicide... that's usually a head shot I thought.

If the person was vain they wouldn't head shot.

 

Women who kill themselves typically avoid doing anything to their face head etc.... fear of not having a open casket etc... I know this was not a women.

Im sure they reviewed the cctv to see how it happened. A updated story would definitely help.

Was there Sat afternoon. Place was packed. Bunch of non gun people looking to rent. Few weeks ago was there on a Sat night. Looked like date night all renting. I get a little uneasy with some the renters. But to each there own.

 That's crazy I don't understand the suicide at shooing range situation.  

Convenient place to go.  You don't mess up your house or present a situation that your family is going to have to see.

 

You're in a place that isn't going to look at you funny if you have a gun, and you know that this happens at ranges sometimes.  I think it happens at every range at least once.  I've never heard a range owner tell me it didn't happen.
