AlDente67 563 Posted September 10, 2014 For those of you who may be interested, the Hightstown Elks 1st annual fishing trip will be held on the Miss Belmar out of...wait for it....Belmar Marina on Saturday, Oct 11th (rain date the 12th). All NJG members are welcome to join. Cost for group members (just say you are with the Elks or ask for Rick) is $55, which includes a rod rental at no extra cost. Normal price for a walk on is about $12 more, so it is a little cheaper) Boat has full galley for food and drink, but you can bring your own supplies. Mates will fillet your catch on the way back (a few bucks tip would be appreciated) Most likely catch will be both Blues and Stripers, or whatever else is biting. Don't worry, I can give you a decent recipe for bluefish if you want one. Ping me if interested or if you have any other questions. If I can give a count to the captain, we can reserve a good portion of the boat for the group. -Rick
leadunderpressure 52 Posted September 11, 2014 Sounds cool. Do we need to join the elks to participate? Is this a full day trip? When is the return time? Pay at the boat or in advance? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

AlDente67 563 Posted September 16, 2014 Guys, we had to change the date to the following day due to our annual Chili cookoff at the Hightstown festival on the 11th. (come and sample the entries, $5 gets you all you can eat and you vote for your favorite - which should be me of course ) So the trip will be the 7:30am Sunday Oct 12th. Boat returns to the marina around 2:30pm. You do not need to be an Elk to come along, you just need to let me know you are coming so I can give you the secret handshake. No need to pay in advance, the mates will come around collecting after the boat pushes off. The boat is the Miss Belmar Princess. Website with directions here: http://www.missbelmar.com/ I suggest you bring your own jigs if you have them. The boat will sell you one for $5 for a small diamond jig with single hook, and then every time you catch a rock, you'll be pulling out your wallet for another one. They do have cut bunker if you prefer just using bait.
