PK90 3,569 Posted September 13, 2014 Actually, it is a "iai" (American Legend) "US Carbine" "CAL 30ML" WWII Commemorative. Seller gave me the original receipt that he paid $399.99 on 10/27/2002 in Kalifornia. He said it was unfired, which I do not believe, but it is in great condition. I gave him what he paid for it plus 1 cent. I know it is a commercial model, but I got it because of the price, condition, and because I already have a "iai" identical receiver and a complete M1 Carbine Kit. I will be putting my own together from scratch to get the experience and knowledge of the inner-workings of the War Baby. Who knows, maybe I'll get into manufacturing a "Estrella Ordnance" "NJ Carbine" "CAL 7.62x33".
Old Glock guy 1,125 Posted September 13, 2014 Nice! I must admit to being severely jealous. Perhaps one day when I'm out of this state...
Old School 611 Posted September 13, 2014 Paul - Do you use a pull through reamer to set head space on a carbine like is done on a Garand? Good find BTW
PK90 3,569 Posted September 13, 2014 I am not sure. I have the gauges and a receiver vise tool. The barrel spins on 45 degrees short of where it should be.

coldsolderjoint 84 Posted September 14, 2014 idk the rules of manufacturing, could you take an m1 carbine, do some modification to it, and then relabel it as an m3 or whatever carbine making it a "new" rifle?
PK90 3,569 Posted September 14, 2014 If I had a manufacturing license. I believe that only the original maker and serial number need to remain the same.
Vicious 138 Posted September 14, 2014 Couldn't a FFL contact a company like citadel and have them do a "special run" of a variation with a different name/ model?
PK90 3,569 Posted September 14, 2014 Been there. Done that. Auto - Ordnance would not do it.
