TonyS. 12 Posted October 2, 2014 So after handling a Ruger Mark III last week I just can't stop thinking about how comfortable it felt. Are there any other pistols that are similar in grip angle to the Mark series, besides the Luger P-08? Thanks.

I could be wrong, but remember I read somewhere a long time ago that a Glock has a similar grip angle to a Luger.

Thanks anyway. There's gotta be something. I've read the Browning HiPower is like the Mark/Luger but just looking at it I can't believe it.

Try a CZ (or CZ clone ie EAA) - has a pretty comfortable grip you may like.

I actually handled the CZ75 and thought it was nice but still it's nothing like a Ruger Mark III. That angle is just very large compared to most pistols I guess. Vlad G 345 Posted October 2, 2014 Realistically glocks are your only option, for a modern firearm. Everybody else uses a more vertical grip, Glock are the only main manufacturer making guns with the more angled grip of the Ruger platform.
T Bill 649 Posted October 2, 2014 If I remember correctly the grip angle on the Mark series pistols is close to 25 degrees. Hopes this helps.

Looks like the OP better start loving Glock
TonyS. 12 Posted October 3, 2014 Looks like the OP better start loving Glock Well, I just hate their looks and the few times I've handled one it didn't feel comfortable to me. I have big paws and usually anything with finger grooves, be it knives, guns, etc.., the grooves are for average sized hands so they don't fit me. I've never shot a 1911. Maybe I should try one.... Maybe it's time to get that 2nd job! Oh boy....
skunkmilk 0 Posted October 3, 2014 Splat, you need to shoot a 1911. They are arguably the greatest handguns ever designed. I understand that's a bold statement. I get why people love their glocks, but IMHO you can't beat a 1911.

Plus the G4's rough textured grip feels a lot better than G3.

It's a .22lr but I bought it to work on my technique. As soon as I gripped it I wanted it. Now I gotta get to a range and see how she shoots.
Meissama 1 Posted October 7, 2014 Steyr's have a similar angle too. Seems to be an Austrian thing. In fact .. You have no idea how long it took me to get my phone to paste that link haha...
