Excerpt from the Amazon Page:

In 2010 Brian Aitken was sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing firearms he legally owned. He lost everything, including custody of his son, for a crime he did not commit. After spending four months behind bars, Governor Chris Christie demanded his release. This is his story.

Let me guess-no mention whatsoever in the book of his possessing magazines with a capacity in excess of that allowed by NJ law?

The mag cap laws are part and parcel of the "Left's War on Guns".

I mean I get your point "he broke the law" but I think that misses the bigger picture.

Oh, I'm with you Alpo - his prosecution highlights the ridiculous NJ gun laws and I don't agree with the severity of his sentencing at all.

However Mr. Aitken's campaign was less than truthful in its message when he was soliciting a pardon.  "He broke no laws" - wrong.  "He was just moving between residences" - he had kept the firearms in his vehicle for over a week while driving to various destinations.

Aitken can claim no crime to the gun possession and high capacity magazine magazine charges as those convictions as they were overturned on appeal due to legal technicalities. The sentence for possession of hollowpoints was commuted, he was not pardoned. Stupid law yeah but he was still convicted.

Before his trial he also said somewhere he had tell gun in his car because his room mate was having a party. Buy his book to find out the truth? Right after I buy OJ's and find out who really killed Nicole.

As a web marketing consultant, Aitken is message savvy.

I read the excerpt, and his fundraiser campaign page. He doesn't mention guns, the Second Amendment, or any work to repeal NJ's awful laws. But he does trash his ex-wife (classy move). And he is raising money "to take his custody battle tot he supreme court." Nothing about guns.

It seems like he's downplaying the firearms angle to sell his story to a wider audience.

Just my perspective. I could be mistaken.
