How to ship a shotgun?

I'm a little confused,  I been googling for a while now, and as usual with the NJ gun laws, cant find the answer.

 

I need to send my shot gun to Mossberg for repairs.

 

How do I ship it and how do I get it back when they are finished?

are they sending you a shipping label? you can ship it to them & they can ship it back to you as long as the gun is not being replaced with a different serial #

No, I dont think they will do that because its over 10 years old and its not a manufacturer defect.

Send your "Multi-Hole Punching Machine" via US Postal Priority Mail, or FedEx/UPS Ground. They will ship it directly back to you.

Long guns you can ship via ups ground directly to the manufacturer. The manufacturer mails it back to you directly. No FFL or overnight mail required.

I stop using the USPS after a Ruger Gun Scout going to Virginia was dropped of in Morganville PO then disappeared for 14 days and turned up being checked into a post office in Detroit MI then flew over NJ to get to VA LOL

When I shipped my shotgun back to Benelli, I put it in its original box inside another box I made from cardboard pieces to hide any identifying markings, then shipped from UPS hub in Boundbrook. It was mailed directly back to me via UPS

 

If you dont have original box then put it in something that will not allow it to move around or bend. You can also wrap the original box with brown paper to over markings.

I just sent my Remington 700 to Remington for the trigger recall via UPS ground (Remy paid). They shipped it right back to my door when it was done.

 

And the swat team has not showed up at my house, at least not yet.
