Browning 1911-380

Recommended Posts

I've said on more than one occasion that the .380 ACP is one of those cartridges that doesn't interest me at all.

That may change...

Browning is coming out with what looks to be a very nice, scaled down 1911 chambered in .380 http://www.browning.com/products/interactive/firearms/1911-380/

9mm is a no-go according to a Guns and Ammo article.

It seems promising. I would like to buy a CCW handgun in about a year or less, and I'm going to be comparing this to a 9mm Shield. The 9mm obviously trumps the .380, but I shoot full-size 1911s very well and "modern" automatics not so well. Range time will tell. Also found it weird that this has a plastic frame.

This pic was concerning though. Look at that gap.

For me this makes no sense. Just go with a 9mm 1911 cheaper ammo more mags to chose from. If mags are one of the deciding factors of reliability like in 9mm platform you might have a problem. I saw this gun in last months G&A and thought that just seems weird

I agree that it's a little weird. That's why I like it!

Since most of my .380 is reloaded anyway, this isn't so bad!

There are no dedicated 9mm 1911s that I know of. AFAIK they're all "full size" guns chambered in 9mm. This is a complete 1911 just scaled down.
