Any improvement in timeframe for obtaining new P2P?

Recommended Posts

So about 2-3 months ago was the first time I had used the new electronic application process to apply for a P2P and replacement FPID. Naturally, I figured that the new system would likely move things along and I even asked the woman at Edison Police department if the process is still taking 6 months (believe it or not this has been the normal wait for me on all other occasions), she replied that it isn't taking as long. I am almost 3 months in and waiting. I guess I am curious if anyone else has noticed that the electronic application has sped things up, slowed them down or if it is still around the same time for receiving your permits? I am looking to start a new job by January and it will make it really hard to get out an pick up the permit while still in my 90 day probation period at the new company.

So more or less, those who have gone through with the new application process, have you noticed a difference in the wait for your permits?

I just got another round of permits in Mountainside. It was actually a little slower this time. It took 30 days to get the call vs 26 last time. The permits were signed 5 days before I got the call though :D

Hamilton?

Your profile shows Shrewsbury.  I thought we were neighbors.

I live in Shrewsbury TOWNSHIP, not the borough. My are is patroled by state police and i cannot use the mini barracks at Fort Monmouth to drop off permit apps, believe me it sucks bad to drive 45 minutes to drop off and pick up

Well I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot but I had to leave a message, doubt they'll even listen to it.

I use the Hamilton NJSP and last year they were taking 6+ months for anything, whether it was for a change of address on an FID or for P2Ps.  Each time I would begin calling after about 2 months.  I was always polite but I would always ask why it was taking so long and when would they expect my permits to come in.  Nothing wrong with letting them know you staying on top of it.

Think of the certain community in Edison that has had the four home invasions this month. I saw some of them on the news at the Edison police department meeting stating how they were definitely going to get a gun to defend their family and their property because the police were nowhere to be seen and couldn't stop anything.

Wait until they find out it takes three to six months to get an FID or P2P in Edison. Just keep your doors locked until then!

Might be a good thing. more uproar and an ethnic community....unless they decide to buy from the homies in Newark instead.
