Does anybody want to build a 6mm AR?

Recommended Posts

I'm building another rifle and may need to buy a reamer.

I've sourced all the parts and if we build more than one can save some cash.

To be clear this is just an upper,

This isn't a beginners project.

Do your homework.

This may be a real opportunity,

I've done some reading and I'm not sure what the issue is assembling it? It seems to use a 6.8 bolt and mags from a 6.8 or a 6.5. What are the gotchas on building this?, it seems there are barrel choices and a standard AR upper.

Help me understand I may be interested before I do another Grendel. From what I've read the loading on the 6mm is easier than the 6.5 and the bullet weight and velocities look really good.

The got cha is barrel and chambering availabliity.

I want my chamber to match my FL sizing die.  Reading makes the dies.

I may have to buy a reamer (maybe) if my barrel guy (X-Caliber  through Barrelman) doesn't have or can't get a reamer that matches the dies.

I'll be pulling the trigger and start assembling parts in about two weeks.

I'm going billet upper and don't know (I doubt it) if I'm going side charger.

If you have or like part sources please tell me.

If you're interested PM me and I'll tell you what the budget is on the upper.  I think you'll be surprised.

I look forward to talking with you.

I'm looking at 6mm AR.  Based on 6.5 Grendel necked down to 6mm. Same shoulder, same body.
