Latest message today from the Shoot Chairman: "It is called a WINTER shoot for a reason. Hats, gloves, scarfs, long underwear are not a fashion statement but common sense. Clear skies and sun with no breeze are forecast along with freezing temperature. Hot coffee and venison stew near the firing line. Heated club house with flush toilets and TV near by. Zeroing from 9-10. Competition from 10-12. Lunch and chance to warm up 12-1, Return to competition for the hardy and those who still have ammo 1-3 (latest). Trophies handed out and results shown and hopefully out the door by 4."

I had a very strange day at this event.

Had a cup of espresso around 10:30 the night before. Didn't get to sleep until very very late. Woke up in a daze after 4 hrs. sleep. In the spirit of things took my Mosin and SKS out of the closet around 8:30. Signed up at 10. When I went to grab my guns from the trunk I discovered to my horror that I'd actually brought a .22 and a pellet gun. From the Battle of Chosin Reservoir to Escape at Varmint Ridge at Wittingham. Back home. Due to time only brought the SKS. Shot the best I've ever shot but I got slaughtered. Well, what do you expect at Chosin?

This was a really great event. Food and beverages all day long. My first graded shooting in 44 years.

Get on their mailing list for future shoots.

Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Kim II Sung are all gone. Castro is on his way out. The Cold War is over and former Communist Block countries are moving from Marx to MasterCard. Many Combloc weapons has found their way into the free world as captured trophies while others have been shipped here, as those once enslaved by Communism have that Capitalism can be rewarding.
